For those of you who will have certification requiring renewal this year, please note that you can renew your certification 90 days prior to it's expiration. To do this you need to first ensure that you have completed ALL of your Governor's initiative courses and also that you have completed your required POST course. If you have not done this, you WILL NOT be able to renew your certification. If you have completed all of the requirements, you should see a box on your POST demographics page which you can click to begin the process. As part of this process you will be required to pay a fee and will also need to have your fingerprints and a drivers history completed. Please see a member of Professional Development when you are ready to begin this process, so that we can ensure the process goes smoothly.
Remember to log-in to PowerDMS each week, as policies which are updated will be shown here.
Remember that the in-service classes will be cancelled unless we have at least 6 participants signed up on PowerDMS. Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic; In-service classes are limited to 10 participants per class. Should you have any questions please contact a member of Professional Development.
We are starting to receive questions about what needs to be done to prepare for the "mandate" assessment. We would advise that you become familiar with SOP (you should be already), familiar with 10-codes and O.C.G.A. and finally begin to work on physical fitness. This will ensure that you are prepared for both the assessment and the academy when your time comes.
