Captain Kelly McLendon is the Commander of the Professional Development Division. Captain McLendon is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the Professional Development Division. Captain McLendon is a Certified General Instructor, and a Certified Firearms Instructor. Captain McLendon is also a member of the Sheriff's Office Command Staff.
Captain Bobby Pearson is an Instructor for the Professional Development Division. Captain Pearson serves as the liaison for the Georgia POST Council and the Sheriff's Office. Captain Pearson is a Certified Instructor and a Firearms Instructor. Captain Pearson is also involved in Internal Affairs Investigations and is also a member of the Sheriff's Office Command Staff.
Corporal Cody Waters is the Coordinator for the Turning Point Program, the Sheriff's Office's Drug Awareness and Education Program. Corporal Waters is also a part of the Hiring and Recruitment team. Senior Deputy Shayne Garrison is the agency's current CALEA Manager. Within this role Deputy Garrison oversees the accreditation and maintains the CALEA Annual Standards for our agency. Deputy Garrison is also an Instructor for In-Service and other training offered by this division, as well as a certified Firearms Instructor.
Senior Deputy Brian Hardeman is an Instructor for the Professional Development Division. Deputy Hardeman is responsible for In-Service Training and New Hire Orientation and is a Certified General Instructor. Deputy Hardeman is also a part of the Hiring and Recruitment Team at the Sheriff's Office as well as an Internal Affairs Investigator.
