This course is designed to provide the participants with the knowledge, skills and abilities to feel comfortable when carrying, using and maintaining their weapon.
The Floyd County Sheriff's Office's Women's Firearm Safety Course is designed with the student in mind. Each session consists of three (3) classroom sessions which last approximately two (2) hours and one range sessions where the student will be given the opportunity to apply the skills she has learned into hands on experience.
The classroom sessions are designed to provide the student with knowledge of Use of Force rules and regulations, as well as Georgia Law. The student will also learn the necessary skills needed to properly maintain her weapon, which will keep the weapon in proper functioning order.
The range session is designed to allow the student to put her new found knowledge and skills to the test and allows the student hands on practice with the weapon she will be using for protection.
In order to successfully complete this course, the participant MUST complete all three (3) classroom sessions and attend the range session, where she will demonstrate her ability to apply the material she has learned during the classroom sessions. Upon completion of the range session, all participants will be provided with a certificate of completion.
